Opportunities for Involvement

Mitzvah Corps- Provide support for congregation members in need, for example organizing food for shiva. More information.

Events Committee- Organize congregation celebrations, for example summer picnic, break-the-fast, Chanukah party, and community seder.

Social Action- provide leadership and programming responsive to the needs of the local to global community. Partner with CUSH (Congregations United to Serve Humanity).

Soup Kitchen- Prepare and serve meals at the Shalom Center, 4th Tuesday of every month, plus Christmas and Easter.

Mentor in Kenosha Unified Schools- Provide support for a disadvantaged child. More information.

Healthy Living Initiative- Plan and lead programming to support the vitality of members.

Jewish Community Foundation- Fund-raising to support local, national and international Jewish communities. More information.

Membership Committee- Prepare membership infomation materials, visit with prospective members, help new members to integrate into the communinty and feel welcome.

Leadership Council- The Leadership Council oversees the organization of Beth Hillel Temple on behalf of the membership. Being on LC has its rewards when its members realize that they have been responsible for keeping BHT as great as it is.

There are many other committees that help BHT function.  Please talk to our members about how to get involved.

APRIL FOOD OF THE MONTH: Raisins.  

In addition, feel free to bring unopened "chametz" before Passover begins--through April 9 only please. The non-perishables will be taken to the Shalom Center Food Pantry before the holiday begins.
