Our Commitment to Privacy
What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected on this Site? When you visit our website, you may provide us with personal information (such as name, address, e-mail address, telephone numbers and/or credit/debit card information) that you knowingly choose to disclose. This information is collected for various purposes. These purposes might include your request to receive information from us about our services or events, donating to us, submitting a form on our website, or simply asking a question. We receive and store any information you enter on our website. We ask for personal information so that we can fulfill your request and/ or answer your message. Beth Hillel Temple does not collect personal information from you unless you provide it to us. If you choose not to provide information, we may not be able to provide specific services to you, but you will still be able to browse the public portions of our website. This means that you can visit (browse) our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself.
The Way We Use Information When you supply information about yourself for a specific purpose, we use the information for only that purpose. For example, you may be asked to give us individual information to make a donation, or attend an event. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete a request or order you have made.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. These e-mail addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
Beth Hillel Temple does not sell, rent, give-away or share its e-mail addresses or other information with outside sources.
Guidelines for Posting Photography and Personal Information on our Website School registration forms include a permission slip for parents to indicate their approval of our use of their child’s photo. Youth group and other activity registration forms will have a checkbox to indicate that permission is granted to use photographs in publicity materials (including the website or Beth Hillel Facebook page) or Temple publications.
School officials will keep a list of families that have not given permission and will advise the webmaster not to post pictures of children whose families do not want their children’s pictures on the website or facebook.
When children are the primary subject of the photo, even if prior parental permission has been obtained on registration forms, an extra step of notifying parents to let them know that we are considering using their child’s photo will be undertaken. Parents may opt to not have their child’s picture published.
When adults are featured and easily identified (i.e., they are the main or only subject of the picture), we will have their permission prior to publication of their photo and name in the caption on the website. Names will not be associated with any pictures posted on Facebook and pictures will not be tagged.
Group shots, silhouettes, long-distance views, and other photos in which individual children are not identifiable do not require permission for publishing on the web.
Personal addresses, e-mails and phone numbers of members will not be posted on the public portion of the website.
Our Commitment to Data Security Personally identifiable information is stored on our server and is not publicly accessible. Further, personally identifiable information is only accessed by Beth Hillel Temple personnel on a “need to know” basis.
